Job Description:
SERVPRO of Birmingham seeks an experienced and reliable Moving Supervisor to join our team. The Moving Supervisor will oversee and manage the moving process for residential and commercial properties affected by damage, ensuring safe and efficient handling,
transportation, and relocation of items during restoration projects. This role requires leading a team of movers, ensuring quality service, safety, and client satisfaction, and ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget while adhering to SERVPRO’s high standards.
As a key member of the team, you will oversee the logistics and operations of moving damaged items, from packing and handling to transportation and final placement. You will ensure that the team follows safety protocols, communicates effectively with clients, and provides outstanding service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage moving operations for residential and commercial properties impacted by water, fire, or mold damage, ensuring items are safely packed, transported, and relocated according to SERVPRO’s standards.
Oversee the moving process, ensuring that movers properly pack, move, and protect items, including furniture, electronics, and other possessions, during restoration or mitigation projects.
Led and trained a team of movers, ensuring that they followed best practices for handling delicate, damaged, and high-value items, maintaining professionalism, and adhering to safety standards.
Ensure client satisfaction, by providing clear communication about timelines, item handling, and status updates throughout the moving process. Address any client concerns or special requests on time.
Ensure proper packing and handling of items, using moving blankets, dollies, lifting straps, and other tools to ensure that all items are secured, protected, and transported without damage.
Maintain clear and accurate project documentation, including timekeeping, inventory tracking, and detailed reports of any issues or damage that occurs during the move.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols, for the moving crew, ensuring that all team members are using proper lifting techniques, moving equipment, and securing items in trucks and storage areas.
Coordinate with other teams and departments, to ensure seamless integration with SERVPRO’s damage restoration and mitigation services when necessary.
Ensure that trucks and equipment are properly maintained, stocked, and ready for use, including performing routine inspections and upkeep of vehicles and moving tools.
Perform final checks on the completed move, to ensure all items are properly placed, unpacked, and positioned according to client instructions and satisfaction.

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check (criminal and DMV) and maintain satisfactory status.
Availability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds, including furniture and moving equipment.
