Do you have experience leading a contents team and department?

We are building a contents division that will perform structural cleanings, pack in/out/back, contents cleaning, and store contents to support our water mitigation, mold remediation, and fire/smoke remediation clients.  We are looking for someone who wants to lead this division and help build it from the ground up!  

You MUST have successful experience with the estimating, billing, packing, cleaning, and storage of contents! 

Initial Responsibilities:
  • Working, hands-on manager to start 
  • Lead the creation and foundation of the processes for the division
  • Recruit employees and temporary labor
  • Create a training program for each position
  • Build a division that provides excellent customer service and delivers profitability 
  • Execute Total Loss assessment, contents documentation, and packing
Position Summary/Purpose
  • Create high levels of customer satisfaction by exceeding their expectations and fulfilling the company’s contractual obligations through the timely and profitable delivery of our fire, water, and contents cleaning services.
  • Facilitate the timely and profitable delivery of all services required to process contents and restore damaged property to its pre-loss condition.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and close content jobs with customers.
  • Communicate with customers and conduct in-home inspections as needed.
  • Communicate with adjusters
  • Write job estimates in Xactimate.
  • Maintain project files.
  • Responsible for collections for contents
  • Coordinate laborers, cleaners, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain inventory of materials needed for contents cleaning projects.
  • Coordinate and participate in the packing and inventorying of damaged contents for processing.
  • Perform production work as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend company meetings.
  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Schedule work with clients and labor.
  • Provide input to and assist in the development of strategic goals.
Working Relationships and Scope
  • Works with the Production Manager and Operations Manager in hiring, development, and discharge of contents processing personnel.
  • Works with the Production Manager to qualify and close contents jobs

    • The individual regularly uses standard word processing and spreadsheet software tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy of work performed, effectively uses communication devices and technology to collect, review, and forward field activity reporting. 
 
Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma (or GED) plus four (4) to five (5) years of experience in the cleaning/restoration industry or an Associate (2-year) degree in a business-related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the cleaning/restoration industry. Team leader or supervisory responsibility experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced technical skills, experience and certification in the area of contents packing and processing REQUIRED.
    • Experience in ultrasonic cleaning and textile cleaning required.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Adequate math skills. Able to quickly and effectively translate remaining work into manpower planning, project completion times, and review and assess labor time reporting. Effectively project job costs based on work remaining.
  • Computer Skills
    • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of computers and computer software, especially MS Word and Excel. Experience with Xactimate software is Required.
  • Listening Skills
    • Effective in receiving feedback and input from employees, probing for additional information or unspoken issues, and providing timely response.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced skill in the use of computers, the internet, PDAs, and other digital technology specific to the job as well as MS Word, Excel, and other industry-specific software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
 
Working Conditions

The work of this position is predominantly carried out in a shop or job site environment. Daily exposure to the shop where vehicles and equipment are housed and maintained and where contents are processed is expected. Employee will encounter facilities where standing water and sewage are present, heat is unavailable due to lack of utilities, fire damage has occurred and mold or other organic growth exists.
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
