Business Development Manager Job Summary

We’re not looking for someone to wait for leads. We’re looking for someone who can create them. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk sales role.

As our Business Development Manager, you will be the face of Voda Cleaning & Restoration in Southwest Florida and a key driver of our growth. Your mission is to build and own a pipeline of referral partners – plumbers, property managers, HOAs and community associations, insurance agents and adjusters, real estate professionals, and commercial facility managers – who call Voda first when water, fire, mold, or storm damage strikes. You will prospect aggressively, secure meetings with key decision-makers, and turn those relationships into commitments and a steady flow of restoration jobs.

Just as important, you will keep our existing customers and referral partners engaged through regular calls, in-person visits, presentations, and networking events so that Voda stays top of mind and every relationship keeps producing referrals. You will track your activity, report results weekly, and hold yourself accountable to clear revenue goals.

This role is built for a proven, self-motivated sales professional who doesn’t need someone to hand them a list every morning and tell them where to go. You’re comfortable walking into a room where you don’t know anyone and leaving with new connections. You’re persistent without being pushy, organized and accountable, and you understand that “not today” doesn’t mean “never.” Successful business development isn’t about collecting business cards – it’s about building relationships that turn into opportunities and revenue.

Training on Voda’s services and processes will be provided, but strong sales experience is a must. This is a commission-based role – compensation can easily reach $100,000 - $150,000 for the first year for someone who is heavily motivated, and increase significantly in future years as there is no limit to the commission potential!

Business Development Manager Responsibilities

Identify potential new customers and referral sources, and find creative ways to get in the door and start conversations.
Create and execute a focused territory sales plan, and create and maintain sales route records.
Perform sales calls resulting in scheduled meetings with target referral prospects.
Conduct regular face-to-face visits with current and prospective referral partners.
Gain commitment from customers leading to referrals of those in need of restoration services.
Follow up consistently – great relationships aren’t built in one visit.
Track pipeline, activity, and results in our CRM and maintain the customer contact database.
Complete weekly and monthly sales reports in a timely manner.
Attend weekly sales meetings.
Maintain phone and in-person contact with existing customers.
Make group presentations to prospective organizations.
Work closely with Operations to make sure the experience you sell is the experience we deliver.
Consistent, effective involvement in trade, community, and networking organizations, and participation in networking activities and events that may occur outside of normal business hours.

Business Development Manager Qualifications

Experience: Strong, proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals is required. Established local contacts in the Southwest Florida home services industry are preferred. An existing book of business in restoration is a strong plus.
Selling Skills: Understands and effectively applies the concepts of differentiation and adding value. Knows customer markets, the issues, and the challenges they face, and can translate that information into useful selling strategies. Builds long-term relationships that drive increased revenue and demand for services. Uses AI tools and other online resources to identify and target potential customers and referral partners and to build efficient sales routes.
Computer Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and computer software including enterprise systems - MS Office, Word, and Excel.
Must reside in Southwest Florida.
