Position Summary
The Mitigation Technician performs emergency response and restoration services for residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, mold, sewer, and storm damage. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency mitigation and restoration calls.
  • Inspect and assess property damage caused by water, fire, mold, and weather-related events.
  • Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards.
  • Remove damaged materials and contents safely and efficiently.
  • Clean, disinfect, deodorize, and restore affected areas.
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment and containment systems.
  • Document project progress with photos, moisture readings, and detailed job notes.
  • Complete required documentation using company software and mobile technology.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with customers, insurers, and team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Crew Chiefs, and fellow technicians to ensure successful project completion.
 
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain IICRC certifications.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete field documentation using a smartphone and industry software platforms, including:

Preferred Qualifications
  • IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification.
  • Previous restoration, mitigation, construction, or disaster recovery experience.
  • Experience using restoration management software and digital documentation platforms.
  • Knowledge of moisture mapping, structural drying, and mitigation best practices.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Work in confined spaces, varying temperatures, and active construction environments.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Compensation: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
