About the Role
Voda Cleaning & Restoration is a growing cleaning and restoration company serving Oakland, Macomb, and Lapeer counties. We handle everything from carpet and tile cleaning to water, fire, smoke, and mold restoration for both residential and commercial customers — and we're adding to our field team as we grow, with people who take real pride in the quality of their work.

We're hiring a Lead Cleaning & Restoration Technician to become the anchor of our field operation. This is a hands-on role today with a clear path to leading a crew as we grow.

A Note for Technicians Ready to Take the Next Step
You don't have to be a lead already to apply. If you've got a couple of years under your belt and you're ready to grow into a leadership role, this is your opening. You'll come in hands-on, learn how we do things, and the first three months are your chance to show us you're ready to run jobs and step into the lead role. If you've been waiting for someone to give you a real shot at the next level — this is it.

What You'll Do
• Perform professional carpet, tile, and odor removal services.
• Perform water, fire, smoke, and mold restoration for residential and commercial customers.
• Learn and follow our standards and expectations for how every job is done — quality is not negotiable here.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, often during stressful situations like a flood or fire.
• Accurately complete work orders, job documentation, moisture logs, and photos.
• Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Grow into leading jobs and, over time, training and holding accountable the technicians who join the team.
• Opportunity to cross-train into trauma and biohazard cleanup as the company expands into that work.

What We're Looking For
Above everything else, we evaluate people on four things — Quality, Accountability, Reliability, and Respect. Those are the building blocks of who we are, and they matter more than anything on a resume.

The right person is:
• Experienced — 2 to 3 years in carpet cleaning and/or restoration.
• Coachable — open to learning how we do things, while also bringing ideas and experience from your past that can make us better.
• Leads by example — holds themselves accountable first, and isn't afraid to hold the crew to the same standard.
• An excellent communicator — with customers and teammates alike.
• Career-minded — you see this industry as your path, not just a paycheck, and you want to grow.

Requirements
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in carpet cleaning and/or restoration.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Able to pass a background check — you'll be working in customers' homes and businesses, often unsupervised.
• Physically capable of demanding work — lifting 50+ lbs, hauling equipment, and working on your feet in tight or awkward spaces for extended periods.
• Able to properly wear and use a full-face respirator in accordance with IICRC standards and regulations.
• Comfortable working in difficult environments — including sewage backup cleanups, mold, fire and smoke damage, and eventually trauma scenes.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

After-Hours & Emergency Work
Restoration is an emergency-driven business. Water and fire losses don't keep business hours. This won't necessarily happen every day or every week — but it does happen, and when the call comes, this person has to be able and willing to respond, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Certifications
Certifications are not required to apply. If you already hold them (IICRC, WRT, ASD, AMRT, or similar), that's a plus. If you don't, that's not a barrier — we're committed to developing our team and will support you in earning your certifications as you grow with us. We invest in people who take pride in their work and want to build a lasting career in this industry.

Why Voda
• You're joining a growing local business where your work is visible and valued — not lost in a large company.
• Real growth path — this role grows into full crew leadership as we scale, with long-term opportunities toward roles like estimator or project and operations management.
• We invest in our people — paid certifications and genuine advancement for those who earn it.
• Hourly pay plus commission on upsells and performance incentives — your effort is rewarded.
• Local, owner-operated business that competes on quality, not on being the cheapest.
Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
