Position Summary
Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm and other disasters.
The Carpenter is primarily responsible for completing residential and commercial repair jobs that are assigned by the Project Managers of the reconstruction department.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Complete assigned repair jobs for residential and commercial properties via a work order generated by Project Manager
- Communicate job progress with Estimators, Project Directors, Production Manager and/or Coordinators
- Complete measurements and calculate size and amount of material needed on assigned jobs
- Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials on assigned jobs
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Complete drywall projects
- Clean up assigned job sites; may be doing a days’ worth of work on different job sites
- May be traveling to more than one job site per day
- Check work throughout the project to ensure it is up to code and specifications
- Responsible for recording your time and coding it to the appropriate jobs
Competency – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be in possession of personal Tools
- Knowledge of finish carpentry, framing, structural work, drywall, and trim carpentry
- Knowledge of technology (iPhone, iPad)
- Communication skills via phone and face to face
- Math skills in order to accurately measure materials and budget materials within estimates
- Mechanical skills to work with various tools and machines
- Ability to learn and operate our primary operating systems: RMS, TSheets
- Ability to work safely with hand and power tools
- Ability to maintain an acceptable Background Check and Motor Vehicle Record Check
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 plus years’ experience in the construction/repair industry as a Tradesman/Carpenter
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 plus years’ experience in finish carpentry work
- Experience with roofing
Physical Requirement
- Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle.
- Constantly positions self to move about job sites, stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces
- Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobs
- Must be able to communicate and converse with customers and internal employees over the phone and face to face
- Frequently will lift up to 60lb.
Work Environment
The employee will be constantly working outdoors and be exposed to outdoor weather condition. The employee will occasionally be working indoors in the office. The employee will be exposed to air conditioning and heat. The employees will be exposed to normal noises throughout the office.
Travel
This position will require up to 100% local travel to jobs sites (as needed).
