Site Supervisor – School Facilities

Full Time | Daily schedule varies based on school operations and special events | $16–$18 per hour
Lead a Team. Support Schools. Make a Difference Every Day.

Create an environment where students can learn, teachers can teach, and communities can thrive.

At ServiceMaster Commercial Services, we're looking for a Site Supervisor who leads with professionalism, consistency, and quiet confidence. You'll oversee the daily janitorial operations for a group of schools and community facilities, supporting your team while building trusted relationships with our school partners.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being present, solving problems, developing people, and making sure every building is ready for the next school day.

What You'll Do
As a Site Supervisor, you'll provide the daily leadership that keeps our schools operating at their best. You'll work alongside your team, lead by example, and help ensure every facility consistently reflects our standards of excellence.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Leading and working alongside janitorial team members during daily operations.
  • Conducting quality inspections and providing timely coaching, recognition, and support.
  • Training and mentoring new employees.
  • Monitoring staffing needs and communicating challenges before they impact service.
  • Ensuring supplies, equipment, and cleaning standards meet expectations.
  • Identifying facility concerns and communicating them through the appropriate channels.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with principals, office staff, and facility contacts.
  • Helping your team solve today's challenges while preparing for tomorrow's success.
The Professional We're Looking For:
Our best supervisors are respected because they are dependable. They earn trust through consistency, professionalism, and follow-through.

They take ownership of their buildings without overstepping their role. They build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and understand that teachers educate students, administrators lead schools, and our role is to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where both can succeed.

You're Never on Your Own
One of the things that sets ServiceMaster apart is the way we support our supervisors.

You'll work closely with an experienced Senior Area Manager who is actively involved daily and available to provide coaching, guidance, and hands-on support. Our local Newport News home office team is also here to help with recruiting, hiring, scheduling, payroll, supplies, and operational support, allowing you to stay focused on leading your team and delivering exceptional service.

We're a local company with local leadership. When challenges arise, you'll work with people who know your customers, know your employees, and are invested in your success.

Why This Role Matters
The condition of a school says something about the community that cares for it.
Every clean classroom, safe hallway, stocked restroom, and welcoming entrance helps create an environment where students can focus, teachers can teach, and families feel confident sending their children to school.

Your leadership helps make that possible every single day.

Opportunities to Grow
We're committed to developing leaders from within. If you're looking for a career where your leadership, work ethic, and commitment to excellence are recognized, we'll provide the coaching, support, and opportunities to help you continue growing.
