We are a rapidly growing restoration and specialty services company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/ Assistant Controller who is ready to take ownership, make an impact, and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Perform bank, payroll, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage and analyze job costing to ensure accurate profitability reporting by project, department, and future branch.
  • Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and perform percentage-of-completion accounting for long-term projects.
  • Monitor project profitability and work closely with Operations to ensure financial accuracy throughout each job.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
  • Support payroll processing, sales tax reporting, and year-end audit and tax preparation.
  • Create and maintain advanced Excel reports, dashboards, and financial analyses for leadership.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Help prepare the accounting department for ERP implementation and support the financial infrastructure for future branch growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with:
  • Percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
  • Job costing
  • Construction, restoration, manufacturing, or other project-based accounting environments preferred.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
  • SUMIFS
  • Nested formulas
  • Financial modeling
  • Data analysis
  • Dashboard creation
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise strongly preferred.
  • Experience with T&M Pro or similar restoration/construction software is a plus.
  • Experience supporting a growing, entrepreneurial business is highly desirable.
