For more than 60 years, ServiceMaster Clean has been creating cleaner, healthier, safer work environments for our customers.  We are seeking an experienced and reliable independent contractor to service and repair various types of janitorial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and more. This position requires a thorough understanding of cleaning equipment maintenance and the ability to diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. 

As a Independent Maintenance Technician and ServiceMaster Service Partner, you will support a team that works together to deliver the best solutions and customer service to our clients. 

You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of a variety of janitorial equipment as needed. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
Independent Contractor Requirements:

  • Diagnose and repair a variety of janitorial equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Provide on-site repairs at various locations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work.
  • Source and replace parts as necessary.
  • Must be able to repair the following equipment for consideration: 
    • Floor scrubbers
    • Vacuums,
    • Buffer machines
    • Burnisher machines
    • Portable carpet extractors
Successful independent contractors will be available as needed to pick up and repair equipment timely. A proven track record with the skill to repair mechanical equipment, demonstrated thorough previous client satisfaction rates is a must. You will be required to have, use, and maintain your own equipment, tools, and supplies needed for repair work.

This contract requires a high level of expertise and self-sufficiency. The ideal independent contractor is expected to bring professional-grade skills and equipment to the job, ensuring top-quality results.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

  • Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, reaching.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 55lbs.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician.        
  • Fast and efficient turnaround time required.
  • Maintain professionalism.
  • Dependable
  • Proven experience in repairing janitorial equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Own tools and equipment for repairs.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites.
