SUMMARY

The restoration technician delivers water, fire and smoke damage restoration services to our residential and commercial customers. Your daily task might include taking moisture level readings, water extraction, equipment placement, general demolition, detailed cleaning of fire and smoke damaged structures, or packing, inventorying and cleaning of personal property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Drive a company vehicle to locations designated by customers. Load and unload equipment and supplies from the vehicle to the work site. Clear the work site by moving furniture and equipment and restore the work site to the original configuration when the job is complete.
  • Perform regular cleaning services of carpets, upholstery and draperies on an as needed basis.
  • Establish and maintain a service schedule to ensure all service is delivered to meet customer requirements.
  • Follow all Environmental Protection Agency and other applicable federal, state and local regulations for disposal of waste water and chemicals.
  • Comply with all verbal and written safety practices including the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment. Read and comprehend all applicable SDSs for chemicals that require special handling and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain all assigned vehicles and equipment to Company published standards.
  • Perform other duties as required. These duties may include job functions that are outside the scope of normal job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in restoration and/or construction will be given top consideration, but is not necessary to apply. We will train the right person.
  • Have mid-level computer skills and be familiar with Windows operating systems and email.
  • Functional understanding of PDA’s (smart phones).
  • Aptitude for learning new technology and software easily.
  • Proficient in the use of Xactimate would be helpful.
  • Certified in Water restoration (IICRC WTR) is a plus
  • Certified in Applied Structural Drying (IICRC - ASD) is a plus
  • Certified in Applied Microbial restoration (IICRC - AMRT) is a plus
  • Ability & Desire to learn tasks quickly
Must be customer focused, professional appearance, detail oriented, goal oriented, possess a strong work ethic and have a desire to be the best. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. You must be able to pass a criminal background check, have a good driving record, and pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
