Work Description
Throughout a given week, SERVPRO is normally producing several different types of jobs. We primarily provide water, fire and mold remediation/restoration services but we often perform other work as well.
• Water mitigation is the majority of what we do and we often respond to after hours emergency water damages.
• We usually perform a couple of small cleaning projects throughout the week, whether it be cleaning a couple of couches, or doing a post construction clean on all surfaces in a home for our reconstruction team.
• We perform mold remediation which involves wearing PPE and sometimes being in tight areas such as crawl spaces or attics in order to clean and treat microbial growth to industry standards.
• Fire and soot cleaning jobs generally require a great deal of demo and cleaning throughout the structure.
• Our reconstruction team will sometimes require our assistance with simple work such as insulation installation, subfloor replacement, content move-out, and cleaning services.
Expectations
• Possess a driver's license and have a clean driving record
• You can pass a background check that is needed for us to perform insurance work
• You can problem solve
• Being able to utilize technology is very useful as we regularly use iPads and cellphones for documentation and communication purposes
• You can safely pick up 50lbs or more. Our drying equipment weighs 20-80lbs
• Production tasks can vary day-to-day; must be willing to change gears as needed
• Demolition work must be performed accurately and carefully, leaving job sites clean every day
• Good attention to detail is very helpful in this industry; for anything from a general house cleaning to a full crawlspace mold remediation. Willingness to be thorough is essential
• Clear communication with supervisors, homeowners, and other technicians is paramount
• Be willing to ask questions
• Show up on time; we start our work day at 7:30am
• Have fun: we all have to work, may as well try to enjoy it
Compensation
We start at $16-$17 an hour but offer opportunities to increase that amount. Pay is not governed by tenure, but by production. We invest in those who invest in success.
