Purpose
The Director of Large Loss and Commercial Reconstruction is responsible for developing operational strategies, working closely with leadership to meet company objectives and will oversee all operations processes to ensure that consistent, efficient workflows are in place, yielding optimal productivity and performance.  This role will provide support, mentoring, and continuous improvement feedback for the Large Loss and Commercial Teams, to include the Production Manager, Estimator, Project Manager, and Job Coordinator. The position will efficiently and effectively oversee the teams as they move their jobs through the entire workflow process. Primary responsibility focus encompasses carrier compliance, limiting department financial risks, monitoring Paul Davis KPIs, and Large Loss and Commercial Team growth. The position will also be responsible for assisting with the training and development of new team members.  
 
Responsibilities
  • Successfully maintain and grow the Company’s gross margin on projects completed & target profitable new business with client development opportunities.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which estimating, and project management’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review files weekly to improve estimating and project management results
  • Develop and train Project Managers with limited experience
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with customers to resolve quality and timeliness issues.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and execute Large Loss Residential (Over $50,000), complex, and commercial contracts and projects to ensure successful results
  • Negotiate and execute change orders, work orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Manage and coordinate the recruitment, on-boarding, and management of subcontractors
  • Work with the administrative team to collect payments on projects with outstanding issues
  • Analyze data to look for trends and areas of concern, then work with the team to improve the delivery time and quality of work on projects in progress
  • Provide outstanding leadership to team members, including opportunities for coaching and development, to maximize work output and work quality
  • Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills 
  • Advanced Residential and Commercial construction knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
  • Ability to lead and develop others (manage a team of 5-10 employees).
  • Solid knowledge of residential and commercial rebuild processes.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently represent the values and culture of the company.
  • Conduct self with uncompromising integrity and ethical standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Proficient with computers and construction software 
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Xactimate or other similar estimating software is necessary.
Preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management or relevant field.
  • Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite or related business software.
Working Conditions
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods while working on a computer
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

The Location
Virginia Counties: Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier, Stafford, Prince William
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
